WATCH: I nearly binged One Night in one night coz it was that good

I love a good Aussie drama series and I feel like we do it pretty well here. I remember when I avoided Wentworth for a really long time and then one random day when Coopy was a newborn and we were at home quite a bit, I decided to give it a go… well turns out I loved it and both my partner and I became captivated by it, caught up and then couldn’t handle having to wait a week between each episode, just to have the series finally come to an end. That was a really hard day after falling in love with the characters on the show.

Well, this time you still get to watch the amazing Nicole da Silva (phew, love her and missed her!) with a few other very familiar Aussies faces such as Noni Hazelhurst and Kat Stewart just to name a few.

One Night is about 3 friends from a small coastal town who went through a traumatic night together in their younger years and went on to live separate lives as they got older, until one of them decides to write a book about that night. Coincidentally, all 3 of them end up back in the town (well, Hat never left), and shit goes down once the book is released.

What was once a time in their lives that they moved on from and chose to never speak of again, becomes something that begins to consume their lives until the truth finally comes out.

And that is all I will say.

I personally found it a great series as I thought I had it all figured out until I realised that I didn’t. I find that I get a kick out of trying to guess the storyline before the end and then bask in the goodness that is “I knew it!” and consider myself one step closer to a career as an investigator but this time around, it buggered me. There were moments I was yelling at the telly, moments where I put myself in the shoes of the teenage roles of the show knowing I had been out many times pissed as fart like the characters and then other moments where I was in the shoes of the mother, now that I have my own daughter.

A good watch if you love a solid Aussie drama based around shit that can actually happen to us and isn’t far fetched.

Also, a heads up: TW (SA) if you’re thinking about watching this.
