THE MIRACLE MORNING

I have a pile of books next to my bed that are begging me to read them, but after being recommended "The Miracle Morning" by a good friend of mine, I high tailed it to the shops to purchase it. It's now a week later, and in my somewhat crazy life, I've now managed to finish it because I just couldn't put it down.

Self help books are becoming the ultimate way to change your life. For me, back when I first developed anxiety, the only way that I knew how to fix it was with a psychiatrist and some sort of drug that would turn me into a zombie or a friggin' maniac that walked around with dilated pupils. That was 10 years ago - these days we are living in an era of movement, where the focus is put back on learning to process our thoughts ourselves, be inspired by those around us and most of all, gaining our lives back.

The Miracle Morning when put simply: it will change your mother fucking life. I had to add the "mother fucking" because I believe that it deserved enthusiasm and that was my way of expressing it. From page one of this book I was captivated. Captivated by the inspiring story of Hal Elrod, who took an incredible life changing event that challenge the strongest of us, and turned "adversity into inspiration and empowerment for others" (as quoted by Hal Elrod). It's about creating time for yourself to begin your day productively, which in turn will set the tone for the remainder of your day. I already get up at 4.15am, so the thought of getting up any earlier than that seemed stupid, but I change day wake up time to 3.45am - and I have more energy than ever.

There was a quote in this book that took me from thinking that getting up any earlier than I already was as fuckin' ridiculous to being justified.  I am a serial snooze button hitter, because I set my alarm much earlier than I really need to, so I'm ready and prepared for the day before the kids wake up - but pressing the snooze button is now a thing of the past.

"When you delay waking up until you have to - meaning you wait until the last possible moment to get out of bed and start your day - consider what you're doing is resisting your life. Every time you hit the snooze button, you're in a state of resistance to your day, to your life and waking up to create the life that you want".

Holy shit, I know right. It got me too.

This book has changed my way of thinking. It has inspired me to really create the life that I want to live, and for once in my life, I feel like I have every ounce of power in my hands that I need to do so. Nothing is out of reach as long as I am willing to work for it, and bugger me dead, I'm going to smash every single goal that I set for myself.

If you feel like you need a bit of a kick up the ass, this is the book for you. It's gets you up and turning DREAMS into ACTIONS - which I think most of us need every now and then. It helps you create time for yourself so that you can be the best version of yourself every single day.

If you've never read a self help book before, you're probably thinking that it's a little culty and those of us who read it have our head in the clouds, but it's far from the truth. I've learnt more from reading in the last few months than I have in my entire life. It's unfortunate that I didn't give this much of a shit in high school, because I'm a bloody avid reader now.

Do your life a favour and read this book.
