BABY REGISTRY MUST-HAVES FOR 2021
So funny story, after I had Max and became a single mum, I was convinced that I’d never have any more babies and end up trying to convince the kids to never leave home and live with me so I could hang out with them for the rest of my life, so I gave away all of my baby items.
Five years later… I had to start from scratch.
Although I will still probably try to convince the kids to never leave home so I can hang out with them for as long as they’ll let me.
One thing I have noticed is that things in the world of babies have certainly changed since I was last pregnant and it’s been an interesting journey seeing what’s out there and my must-have list has had a bit of a makeover since the last time that I was pregnant. That being said, I’m a pretty simple girl and this time around I’ve definitely stuck with the things I wish I had when I had Madi and Max.
Seeing as this is Chris’ first go with pregnancy, he just stuck with what I recommended. He’s a good egg.
So without further ado, here are my must-have’s for Baby Hurley!
Smart Baby Monitor: Cubo Ai Plus
I know many of you will know how it feels when I say that I’m the type of parent that hovers over bubs when they’re born, making sure they’re still breathing, they’re safe and everything is absolutely fine, so having a baby monitor is a must.
I’ve never had a baby monitor that connects to my phone before, so the fact that I am able to check on my little man from wherever I am, whenever I want, is such a good feeling. Not only will I be able to see the baby, but some other epic features of the Cubo Ai Plus are:
Photo and Video Capture
Cry Detection
Video Recording Updates
Covered Face and Rollover Alerts (ABSOLUTELY EPIC!)
Lullabies and 2 way Audio
...everything but the kitchen sink!
One of my favourite features is the cry detection and once the little man begins to roll over, I know the alerts to let me know if he has moved or covered his face will definitely be something that gives me absolute peace of mind.
As parents, we just want the best for our babies and know that they’re safe and I feel like this monitor helps ease my anxiety so I can go and do the things I need to around the house while he’s asleep, maybe even workout!

Bassinet: Schnuggle Moses Basket
This is the first brand new bassinet I’ve ever had and I absolutely love the moses basket design. It’s so breathable and what I love most about this particular one is that you can turn the stand can be turned upside down into a rocker - SO GOOD!
I bring the bassinet into the lounge room through the day until we go to bed and I also carry it around with me as Coop is a little stage 5 clinger, so I carry him in the bassinet to the bathroom while I get ready, near my desk when I do emails, the kitchen when I’m cooking dinner and on the odd occasion when he does sleep, wherever the air is flowing and he’s completely comfortable.
To be honest, I’m a bit of a hypocrite when I say Coop is clingy because I’m just as bad. I just really like that I can carry him around with me and let him rest while I get stuff done. He just likes knowing that his mummy is nearby and he can lay next to me and have a chat wherever I need him to!

Baby Bag: OiOi Faux Leather Tote - Tan
I had been eyeing this baby bag off since before I fell pregnant and I was waiting for a reason to buy it, so obviously it was one of my first purchases when I did end up finding out we were pregnant!
When looking for a baby bag, I’ve always looked for one that has heaps of room without being too bulky, lots of compartments or pockets and of course, I love one that looks nice too. This baby bag has gotten me so many comments since I began venturing out of the house with Coop and I still love it as much as I did when I first laid eyes on it!

Bottle Warmer: Beaba Baby Milk Bottle Warmer
Coop is my third child and this is the first time that I’ve ever had a bottle warmer… but now I feel like it’s an absolute MUST! I remember trying to warm up Madi and Max’s bottles when they were babies and when you use a microwave, it never heats the bottle evenly and it was beyond frustrating. I don’t even know if bottle warmers existed back then because honestly, no one suggested that I have one. How did we even heat up bottles back then?
Here’s me talking as if my children were born 30 odd years ago, haha.
But seriously, how?
This bottle warmer is compact, works quickly and has been something I recommend to anyone that asks about baby registry must-haves.

Baby Capsule: Joie i-Gemm
This is the first time that I’ve had a removable capsule for bubs but the reason for it this time around was so I could easily remove Coop from the car for school runs, sports or anything that I need to do in #mumlife to make life a little easier. Having two primary school age children means constantly leaving the house to drop off and pick up, and it would always be my luck that the little man falls asleep while driving to school, so a capsule was a no-brainer.
This particular model is also compatible with Joie and other brand prams with the correct adapters.
I can’t even explain how happy I was that we got a capsule this time around - it’s just made travelling with Coop so much smoother!
Baby Bottles: Como Tomo Natural Silicone Baby Bottles
I used these bottles when I had Max and I haven’t used any other brand since. They are a squishy silicone that feels like a boob, so transitioning a baby from breast to boob is a smoother one, plus they’re great for helping to prevent colic. These bottles are safe in the bottle warmer or in boiling water, they’re non-toxic and hands down the best bottle that I’ve ever used.
